As a second part of this project, it helps to pay artists to plant drought-tolerant native Colorado plants and seeds in at least 75 separate locations, using garden tools crafted from surrendered, unwanted guns. The tools created from guns are used to create life and acknowledge our connection to each other and the earth by creating a community of care and documenting the process through photography.

The sites are documented before and after the planting and will be added to an ongoing tracking map. The map also creates a murmuration formation of the sites. I will return to these sites in May for final documentation to assess what has grown, if the site has been altered or paved, and if it is no longer available. The final images will be an overlay of the two points in time.
